When I first saw Martin’s house in the Mississippi Delta, I knew that it was special. Surrounded by cotton and historic homes, this oasis is incredibly stunning. Each building on the property has quite an impressive history, from surviving fires to housing generations of relatives. There is even an old tennis court that was converted for the wedding reception. Months of hard work were rewarded with this one day of Delta perfection.
It was the quintessential “do it yourself” wedding- from the bouquets, to the lights, to the food. Heck, Martin even forged the wedding rings himself. Everything about this wedding was made with love. And for those of us lucky enough to be there, we could feel it the entire time.
I’ve been having a hard time coming up with ways to describe this wedding. It was gorgeous. It was amazingly beautiful. It was everything a Delta wedding should be. Yet none of these phrases fully capture the moments of beauty that occurred on this day.
Hopefully these pictures do it better.
OMG–it really was magical.I wasn’t sure if it was just me or if the day was really enchanted. Wonderful narrative elements–fantastic visual treat. Love, Love, Love.
Great job capturing an awesome-looking wedding. Nice, consistent processing throughout too.
wow. this is pretty. REALLY pretty. Super job documenting the day.
Martin and Leslie, you two look incredible.
Excellent photos!!!
Wow. o.O I think I’m in love with this wedding 🙂
Wow, what a lovely day! Awesome job with every single part.. beautiful.
Every photo of them in the cotton feild needs to be blown up huge and placed around my house. Please and thank you. And seriously, lovely photos. 🙂
Absolutely beautiful. I LOVE how you set the scene, and seriously, those cotton field shots are dreamy.
The cotton field shots are like something from another planet. All of the details and portraits in this post are incredible.
Transcendent elementation and acute visualization. Well done, sir.
Oh my goodness-my kingdom for a local cotton field!
Beautifully done.
I love the clever way you used the tilt shift in the close-up of the dress with the cotton field in the background.
And I really love your arrangement. Seeing all the details and setup and hints to the bride’s style, without yet glimpsing her, was suspenseful in the very best way. Makes her seem not only obviously lovely but a bit mysterious. 🙂
Your eye and your processing, too…just…wow!
Whoa! So cool! I absolutely love the style of this wedding!
Wow! What a beautiful, love-filled day this must have been! The photos are wonderful, I nearly felt like I was there!
Every picture on here is great. I work with Leslie and you did a beautiful job capturing her spirit and personality.
Love the shots in the cotton field. Great work all around!
